Hi, i’m Anirudh.

Welcome to my portfolio website.

I’m a film-maker, photographer and writer who has led and assisted in several productions – fiction, non-fiction and commercial. I work primarily as a writer, video producer, editor and photographer.

I spend a good amount of my time reading, and like to gain a historical and cultural perspective of people and places, for an increased understanding of the world around me.

Shiva Sutra Jaala is an experimental dance drama film that serves as an introduction to the Sanskrit language. The Aṣṭādhyāyī (“Eight Chapters”), is a Sanskrit treatise on grammar written between the 6th and 5th century BCE by the Indian grammarian Pānini. Beyond defining the morphology and syntax of the Sanskrit language, the Aṣṭādhyāyī distinguishes between usage in the spoken language and usage that is proper to the language of the sacred texts.

Pugai Padam is the first short film in my body of work, which my friend Raghul Sukumar and I co-wrote and co-directed. This film was made in collaboration with a bunch of people who were just content with having a good, fun time, trying to learn what it takes to make a film, and as a class assignment. There are so many ways by which we could’ve made this a better film, but we’re all quite glad it happened. These are people I still have the pleasure of working with even today, almost 3 years later – some even longer.
Here’s the full film.
